After finding out his wife of 19 years was born a man, the Belgian husband—identified as Jan--said that he found out about his wife’s sex change operation after hearing rumors. Jan said, “I thought she was an attractive woman, all woman. She had no male traits.”

He also said his wife pretended to get her cycle by using sanitary towels. Jan is now undergoing psychiatric help. Belgian courts have so far refused to let the marriage be annulled.
