You can add Jennifer Hudson to the list of people who think American Idol has run its course.

Idol's 12th season has gotten off to a rocky start, with the show's lowest ratings ever despite the addition of Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban as judges. And the season three alum tells Celebuzz, “Everything has its time. American Idol has changed the face of television. Not everyone can say that. I'm proud to have come from American Idol, so I just say, 'Go out on top.'"

Hudson made the comments while promoting her new flick The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, which just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The film also stars Jordin Sparks and features Alicia Keys as co-executive producer and composer.
