Police in California arrested a man this week who had multiple outstanding warrants worth several million dollars.
A man from Visalia, California, identified as Christopher Sweeney, was arrested on Tuesday (April 23) on four outstanding warrants totaling $2 million. In a post on the Visalia Police Department's official Facebook page, the VPD stated that its Narcotics Unit and Special Enforcement Unit had been investigating the 33 year old for narcotics and weapons crimes over the past two months, ultimately culminating in his arrest this week.
Detectives confirmed Sweeney's presence at a residence on the 300 block of South Summit Street. Because of the seriousness of the warrants involved, the Visalia Police Department deployed their SWAT team to take him into custody without incident. The operation was carried out at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, resulting in Sweeney's arrest. The department noted that the arrest occurred without any injuries to either the officers or the suspect. Photos shared by VPD show what appears to be Sweeney standing outside a home with his arms raised as he was approached by law enforcement.
FOX 26 reported that Sweeney was being booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility for the outstanding warrants. They Visalia Police Department did not state the specific charges Sweeney could be facing.
